Alane Poirier is a fine art photographer based in New Jersey. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Houston and her Master of Fine Arts from Rutgers University, Mason Gross School of the Arts. She is a member of the faculty at Middlesex College in the Visual, Performing and Media Arts department. In addition to fine art and teaching, Ms. Poirier has practiced a variety of photography from commercial to photojournalism.
Her most recent work explores abstract photography. The series is inspired by vintage photo equipment and accessories that she uses in constructing the abstract compositions. She uses natural and artificial light with a 35mm digital camera.
Ms. Poirier’s current group exhibitions include NOOBAA, Non-Objective Abstract Art July 12 – August 23, 2024, at 3 Square Art Gallery in Ft. Collings, CO.
